The new Disney Store offers a one-of-a-kind, interactive and magical experience for Disney fans of all ages. Disney Store's new design concept aims to deliver "the best 30 minutes of a child's day" through immersive experiences including a Disney Princess with Magic Mirror, Translucent Trees, Disney Pixar CARS-branded Ridemakerz experience and the Disney Store Theatre featuring the latest Disney entertainment.
When Truly was 2 years old, we went to Disney world and stayed at one of their resorts. She is now 4 and still begs and pleads to go back and visit. This summer we plan on taking another trip, as well as every year or so.
With that being said, we are frequent shoppers at any place that hold Disney toys. Not only is it something that my girls love, but I grew up as a Disney gal as well. I hold so many memories and love the fact that my daughter and I can relate to our love of Cinderella and Ariel.
Truly was excited to go to the Disney Store. She knew exactly what it looked like, and where to find it in the mall. When we came to the store entrance, we saw it was blocked off and completely covered, getting ready for the Grand Opening. Truly was a little confused and looked around wondering what to do next.
After a quick e-mail, we were happily greeted at the entrance, and Truly quickly realized that something special awaited behind the dark curtains.
This is what we saw as we entered
Could you imagine the face of a 4 year old girl?
One of the things that was brought to my attention right away was, well the smell. It smelled like a forest! One of the fun little features of the store is the fact that it will now smell like Disney. Today's scent was Imagination. There will be special scents such as Imagination, Magic, Christmas smells, etc. They will also be available to purchase so that you're home can smell like Disney. If I'm going to buy air fresheners and sprays for my home anyway, they might as well be Disney smells!
The store is guided with a Pixie Dust Trail, that is highlighted with amazing Translucent Magical Trees that highlight different scenes, moods, and graphics from Disney movies as well as what is going on in the store.
Having girls, they were enchanted with the castle. Addy wasn't a hundred percent sure if it was stable, as she glanced inside. The store is separated into different sections, and upon entering, you are greeted with the Disney Princess Section.
You are able to go inside and see where the entrance leads to .....
We then came to the Magic Mirror. Wave one of the Disney Princess wands, or gowns, and a special greeting and scene will play. There are many different customized scenes that will play, so each special princess will get a new greeting. Here she ooed and aawed to Ariel.
For a good chunk of our visit, Truly wouldn't move from this area. I continued on the tour, as Truly danced in front of the princesses.
The Disney Junior section was right up Addy's alley. With little gadgets and switches all at a child's level, you are able to operate the propeller above, and hear funny little sounds.
It took some convincing to get her to the next section, she was having a blast.
The Gazebo was amazing. There is a lighted Gazebo area in the new Disney Store that plays clips and videos from your favorite Disney movie scenes. All of the lights, Translucent Trees, and music coordinate throughout the entire store with what is on the screen.
The control pad is easy to use for any age. With a couple of clicks, you can add your favorite scene to the Movie Queue. You will be able to see in real time, how many more minutes until your selection will play.
Even my rambunctious Addy sat still for a minute or two...
The Magical Trees change when you don't see it, displaying new characters and fun hidden Mickey's (just like the theme park) for you to discover. I was able to catch the Pixies from Pixie Hollow on camera!
Being the girly girl that she is, Miss Truly still loves karate and Cars. The new Disney Store boasts a fun CARS-branded Ridemakerz. Think of this as the Build-a-Bear for Disney Cars. You are able to pick a car, pick accessories, etc, and actually build your car.
With the help of a team member, children are able to put their cars together to their own specifications.
Then off she went with her Car. This is an awesome incentive for children to play with something that they actually put together themselves. Truly was more than proud to show us her creation.
After some disappointment to Truly that she couldn't buy anything today (after all it was just a private tour) the wonderful marketing team presented a goody bag to Truly and Addy with their very own stuffed Mickey Mouses. They were both super excited about not only being able to visit this fun new place, but they left hugging their very own Mickey's.
The new Disney Store is no longer a place to buy Disney merchandise. It has turned into an interactive place to experience the magical world of Disney.
Thank you to the District Manager, Lindsay and Elizabeth, as well as the wonderful Team Member who gave us a tour. The new Disney Store is absolutely incredible, and I look forward to visiting over and over again!
What fun to take a private tour! She looks like she is having a blast in the photos! :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome! How I wish I have grand kids to tour your store with. Great narrative description Stepf! You're a great writer, but most of all, your articles are experiential which makes it more meaningful.
