First of all, The Point Park & Eats is more than just a parking spot for food trucks, they have plenty of seating, feature a local art house, and even have a park for the kids to play. We got there a little past 5, and it was deserted. There were a couple of people at the open air bar (kind of cool) and a couple with some babies strolled in after we got there. I'll chalk that up to being 5 is weird dinner time, and plus like I said, people were coming for the wine tasting and music that evening.
There were 4 trucks there, a good mix. Mexican, sushi, american-ish, and a crepe truck. I loved the crepes from CrepeNation, and so did my family. From living in Europe for 4 years and missing authentic Crepes, these sure did come close!!
The kids of course, opted for chicken tenders and pizza from Colona's Curbside Cafe, which was equally fantastic!
The Shrimp Creole from CrepeNation
The Mediterranean Chick from CrepeNation.
The kids were definitely more interested in the playground and were under close scrutiny from myself and their aunts.
Go Truly Go!
I'm not much of an "outdoor eater" due to the fact that I hate bugs and sweat, but I was able to tolerate it because I loved the food, and the kids were having fun!
I'm also a big fan of art, especially when it comes to local art, so we checked out the Art House that they have there. I want my kids to appreciate different kids of creativity and the time that artists put into creating their work. It's more than just "Oh that looks nice," I try to get them to see it in different perspectives. They really loved it.
It's also a great place to go inside and eat I'm told. Although when we went inside it was still very hot and sticky, and made even someone like me who hates the outdoors, rather eat outside.
"Woah, it looks like someone lives here. Can we live here too?" - Truly
Loved these at the entrance.
I could definitely see the appeal of this place, and would probably want to come back here in the evening when they have live music and I could sit at the bar with my husband. Being summer time and it is just way too hot to chase down the kids while holding a spicy crepe.
I do think this is just what Leon Springs needed though, and I look forward to visiting The Point Park and Eats again!
